Healthy Relationships

Remember our agreements throughout the entire class period.

Today we are going to finish up the PowerPoint and notes about Healthy Relationships. Then we will try something I have been wanting to do for a while. I am going to assign a podcast for you to listen to, take notes on, and then discuss. You need to devote all of your attention to the 30+ minute podcast as you take notes on it with details you think are important.

If you would like to listen to it in the classroom on the speakers, I will be playing it there.

If you would like to sit outside, you may do that.

If you would like to plug in your headphones and use a chromebook to listen to it, you may do that.

If you would like to listen to it on your phone with headphones, you may do that.

If you would like to share a set of headphones with another person, each with one earbud, you may do that.

We will begin listening to the Podcast at 2:15pm, and we will start the discussion at 3:00, finishing when the bell rings. If people come to the door at the end of class, I will invite them in to listen to the discussion.

You will turn in the notes you took on the discussion for up to 10 points. You must have 3 questions written on your notes as well.

Types of questions:

  • Background Knowledge
  • Experience related to the topic
  • Cause and Effect
  • Problem solution
  • Compare/Contrast
  • Evaluation

Some words I would like you to be aware of (for possible connections) as you listen and decide what might be important to write down are:

Data Stations T2W10

Mr. Grimm decided to work out on Monday night. Before he began, he measured his heart rate. He measured it every 5 minutes and recorded the results into a table. Use the data in the table to create a Broken Line Graph, then write 3 questions from the graph.
