Nutrition Tracking- A thousand mile journey begins with a single step

Yesterday you set up an account on SuperTracker, but didn't enter any information (as an assignment). You will be entering in some information today, and for the next 2 weeks

I chose for us to use SuperTracker because I have used it before, and it is helpful to use in order to analyze data.

This is a difficult assignment because it requires you to measure, calculate, remember, record, enter data, analyze results, and then reflect on your own choices. It actually gets easier the more you use it, but it can be hard to begin. Sometimes people don't like to look at their choices, but it is crucial in order to accurately analyze your health.

The point of this project is not perfection, but learning about yourself based on data collection and analysis.

You will have time daily in class to ENTER YOUR DATA into SuperTracker, but you will need to work out a process for RECORDING your food intake as you go through your day. Here is my process so far:

Today I will show you how to "Create a Combo" and then enter it into the system.

Then I will "turn you loose" so you can:
1. Think back and record your food intake from Monday.
2. Think back and record your food intake from Tuesday up until this class period.
3. Start entering your food data into your SuperTracker account. If you finish,
4. Write a blog post about your reaction to having this two week project be assigned to you:

In your blog post, please answer the following questions:
-What is your hope for what you could learn from doing this Food Tracking Project?

-What might get in your way of doing this project accurately or consistently?

-What types of support might you need in order to do this project?

-What are your fears about doing this project, if any?

5. If you finish the blog post, work on yesterday's vocabulary words
6. If you finish the vocabulary words, please read pages 154-160 and answer the questions on page 160, #'s 1-11.
