Personal Goals and YRBS Data

Mrs. Agbo will be your substitute teacher today.

Please read over this entire post before beginning on the work.

I have looked over your food tracking sheets and commented on them. I also returned them in order for you to update Tuesday’s information. That brings us to task number one for the day.

1. Please update your food tracker for Tuesday. (10 minutes) Be sure to read my comments, and feel free to make your own comments back.

(If you are already finished with your data tracking, work on the Quizlet word bank for this week for the 10 minutes that others are finishing up.)

2. The next installment of MEDIA LITERACY. I would ask again that Amy and Isabelle take notes in MindMeister. I will revisit some of the media literacy topics when I come back to class on Thursday.

3. Introduction to sexual health. Being healthy in this area really comes down to communication. As we begin to look into relationships including dating and developing intimacy, it’s important to know where we came from, and what our communication styles are. That is why we took the Myers-Briggs personality test, so we have a framework to really get a good understanding of ourselves, now we will look into families, which is where you learned many (most?) of your communication skills.
Start by outlining pages 418 to 422 in your Brain Books on the next available pages. Be sure to reference the pages in your table of contents.
(Skip 2 or 3 lines between topics in order to take notes)
Here is an example of how to start:

After you have outlined all the way to page 422, go back and carefully read each section, and write down one or two details (bullet points are fine) within each of the sections.
When you are finished taking notes, answer questions number eight and number nine on page 422.

4. After you have completed the two critical thinking questions, get into groups of three and have a 3 to 5 minute conversation podcast in which each member shares the question and answer to number nine (see above). Share the audio file to jgrimm@slcusd.org.
Teams:

Please plug in the chrome books when it is time to leave. Thanks!
I’ll be back tomorrow,
Mr. Grimm
